Uppsalir Marketplace

Terms of service

Draft template — pending legal review before public launch.

1. The service

Uppsalir is a platform that lets organisers publish craft markets, vendors apply for stalls, and shoppers browse events. We are the operator of the platform; we are not the organiser or the vendor. Any goods or services you buy at a market are a contract between you and the vendor, not you and Uppsalir.

2. Accounts

You need an account to organise events, apply for stalls, or save preferences. You must supply accurate information at signup and keep it up to date. Do not share your account.

3. What organisers agree to

Organisers agree that the event details they publish are accurate, that the venue is theirs to use, and that they will review vendor applications fairly and communicate approval or rejection within a reasonable window. Organisers set the payment window for each event; unpaid approvals expire after that window.

4. What vendors agree to

Vendors agree that the wares they list are theirs to sell and that they will show up to any event where their application is approved and paid. Cancellations happen through the platform, not by no-showing.

5. Payments

Payments for stall approvals are collected by PayFast under their own terms. Uppsalir charges a platform fee — the percentage and any fixed component are shown on the event page and on the apply dialog before you submit. Refunds follow PayFast’s rules and the organiser’s cancellation policy.

6. Prohibited use

  • Do not attempt to bypass access controls or scrape the platform.
  • Do not upload malicious content or content you do not have the right to share.
  • Do not use Uppsalir to launder money or sell goods that are illegal in South Africa.

7. Data protection

Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal information, including your rights under POPIA and how to request deletion.

8. Termination

You can close your account any time from Data & privacy. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

9. Liability

Uppsalir provides the platform as-is. We take reasonable care with security and availability but do not guarantee an uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by South African law, our total liability is limited to fees you have paid Uppsalir in the twelve months before a claim.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Disputes that cannot be resolved through dialogue may be brought before the appropriate South African courts.
